The Station Ground Rescue team was called out today by the RCMP to search for an American civilian Comanche aircraft presumed down in the Mira Road area. Adverse weather conditions notwithstanding, the team continued with the search throughout the late afternoon and night.

Unhappily, the ground search operation ended today when the aircraft wreckage was found and it was ascertained that the pilot was killed. Station personnel remained on duty at the crash scene assisting the RCMP in guarding the wreckage.
