There is a lot of info on this collision in Devonna & Don Edwards,
“The Little Dutch Village”, Nimbus, 2003, pp. 117-118. One of the
planes, an Avenger, crashed into Bedford Basin (near Fairview Cove).

The other one, a Fury, crashed into a “nearby hill”. The book states
that Ford Street was “near the crash site.” This happened at night,
April 9, 1953.

I imagine the local papers of
April 10, 1953, and a few days following,
would have plenty of details.

There is an Avenger on display at the Shearwater Aviation Museum. As I understand it, this particular aircraft was salvaged from Bedford Basin, but was not indicated if there was a collision with another bird, before it was ditched.
