I would like to know more about this plane crash in upper musq. I herd about this crash many years ago but the info is hard to find.

The cause of the corrosion was attributed to the growth of a fungus Cladesporium resinae?? in galley slop that had accumulated on the bottom skin of the airplane.

I was onboard HMCS St. Laurent, which was designated as ‘Funeral Ship’”, at the time of the crash.
A young Navel officer was killed in the crash and buried at sea. I was part of the ‘deck party ‘at the time
and I will never forget it. I’m now 67 years old.
