Symonds Road, Halifax County

I will be interested in other’s thoughts, and it is easy to get to: Proceed from the Bedford Highway along The Hammonds Plains Road past the highway up to a left onto Symonds Road {memory does not tell me that name, the map book does). It is the road by the Ben’s Outlet that is blocked by a series of Jersey Barrier pieces. You can’t miss it. Park somewhere and walk up the road past the barriers. The road turns left and so do so. At the end of this road you will be on a power line. If you crawl over the little hill there to the right you can see over the boulders (recently man placed and otherwise) to the place where the structures are. Some kids have been trying to put a roof on the one with some sticks… without much success. You can see from the graffiti that the area is well used by the drugged ones.
Take a poke around. I also highly recommend following the paths to the left along the ridges parallel with the power line. It is a lovely spot. I love those paths. They are all over the province and I get a very strong feeling of being lost in time on them. Between people and animals, they have been kept clear for a hell of a long time.
